THE Boys Brigade are celebrating 100 years of presence in the area with a variety of events.

Their most recent was the opening of a time capsule which was closed in 1991 when the company celebrated 75 years and only opened at the weekend.

The capsule contained a letter from the 1991 Boys who sent the greeting across the years and reflected on their time in the Boys Brigade and the 75-year history in Helensburgh.

The contents of the capsule were recorded by the current members and it was found to include photographs of the officers, the company, the company section and the junior section.

It also contained a letter from the manufacturer Rolls-Royce, a copy of the company registers, the 75-year badge and an uncirculated UK coin collection.

There next celebration event will be their Big Breakfast on Sunday October 29.
