A NEW initiative enabling schools to set up their own digital TV stations was launched in Glasgow this week - and Helensburgh's at the forefront of the scheme.
Colgrain Primary and the Tower Digital Arts Centre teamed up for the launch at the Scottish Learning Festival after a trial in an after-school club at Hermitage Academy.
Apple and Blackmagic Media courses for schools and trainers from across the county are scheduled to be held in Helensburgh between now and the January launch.
Mark Heathcote, head of Tower Training, said: "We are delighted to be enabling students to create TV for their schools. Making them trained creators of curated content for their schools rather than just online consumers is exactly what parents and educators want right now."

The two-day festival also saw Colgrain pupils help out at the the launch of the Scottish Government's new Digital Schools Awards programme by deputy first minister John Swinney.
