MACMILLAN Cancer Support's World's Biggest Coffee Morning is coming to the Helensburgh and Lomond area this week – and there are three local events at which you can lend your support to the charity.

Helensburgh resident Suzanne Murray is organising a coffee morning at the Masonic Hall in the town's West Princes Street from 10am until noon this Friday, September 30.

Suzanne, who works with Enable Scotland in Helensburgh, told the Advertiser: “I just thought it would be nice to give something back to Macmillan, and some of the ladies from the local Enable group are going to help.”

You can also pop into Laura Kate's boutique on Sinclair Street from 10am on Friday and partake of teas, coffees and cakes as well as participating in competitions in the store to help raise money for the cause.

And on the same day there's a coffee morning in the school hall at Rosneath Primary from 8.30-11.30am, hosted by the school's P6/7 class and featuring a raffle, stalls and the announcement of the winning family in the school's own Bake Off contest.

All donations of home baking for the Rosneath Primary event are welcome – just drop them off at the school on the day.

A fourth World's Biggest Coffee Morning local event has already taken place: the organisers of the regular Light Relief Coffee Morning at St Joseph's Church Hall donated the proceeds from this Tuesday's event to Macmillan.
