IT was a shining example of national spirit when 4th Helensburgh Scout Group lit one of thousands of beacons across the UK to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
The beacon, at Kidston Park, was one of 70 being lit by UK Scouts and more than 2,022 by groups and organisations across the country.
Speaking before the event, Doug Green, executive chair from the 4th Helensburgh Scouts, said: "We’re proud to be part of this momentous celebration and mark 70 years of Her Majesty’s services to communities across the UK."
There were also events in Cove, Dumbarton Castle and beyond after the Queen lit her own display at Windsor Castle.
