AN urgent appeal has been issued to trace a missing woman who was last seen more than a month ago. 

Amy Campbell was last seen around 11pm on Thursday, March 16 and was reported missing on Tuesday, April 4. 

Since this time, police have been conducting enquiries in an effort to trace the 38-year-old.

She has links to Argyll and Bute and Edinburgh. 

Amy, from Kirkintilloch, is known to travel extensively around Scotland, is a keen hillwalker and is not believed to have access to a vehicle. 

Police say Amy's family are "very worried" about her and it is out of character for her to not be in touch with family and friends. 

Officers are urgently appealing for anyone who has information about her whereabouts to contact them.

Inspector Alan Ferris said: "It’s out of character for Amy not to be in touch with her family and friends.

"We just want to know she is safe and well. Her family are very worried.

"If anyone has seen Amy or has any information or knowledge as to her whereabouts, please contact police as a matter of urgency."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police quoting incident number 2790 of April 4. 

Amy is described as white, around 5ft 7ins tall, with long blonde hair and blue eyes.
