AN ANNUAL cycling road race is gearing up to take in the beauty of the Rosneath Peninsula - four times over.
More than 60 riders are expected to compete in the Hugh Dornan Memorial Road Race on Sunday, May 21.
Run by the Lomond Roads Cycling Club, it is part of the Scottish Alba series organised by British Cycling and brings in some of Britain's top athletes. including high-ranking names such as John Archibal and Harry Tanfield in past years.
The course will take four laps of the Rosneath penisula for both male and female riders.
Club secretary Stephen Maxwell told the Advertiser: "We believe this event to be important to the area for the promotion of sport in rural areas and promotion of road racing across Scotland."

The race headquarters will be in Gibson Hall in Garelochhead, where the race starts, before heading up Whistlefield Road.
