Up-and-coming stars have just over a week left to submit their applications to a Helensburgh talent contest.

Amateur acts haven’t got long left to send their auditions to Helensburgh’s Got Talent as applications will close on Monday, June 5.

Those who are interested can send in a short video of them performing via an online form.

Finalists will be selected for the show on June 23 at Hermitage Academy where the top three acts will be awarded prizes and all performers will receive a certificate commemorating their success on making the live show.

The event has been organised by Helensburgh Community Council via their Music in the Square initiative.

Community council member Tariq Durrani said: “The idea is to give a platform to people who otherwise wouldn’t have one.”

The night is being held in collaboration with Hermitage Academy who have provided the instruments and equipment for the event.

Winners will be judged by an independent panel who are involved in the music scene.
