A FLOWERING cherry tree was planted in Rhu this week to mark the coronation of King Charles III.

The tree was put in the park opposite the Brae Shop in the vilage and facing the tree planted to mark the jubilee of the late Queen Elizabeth.

Donated by the congregation of Rhy and Shandon Parish Church, the tree was planted by pupils from Rhu Primary School, with Provost Maurice Corry in attendance.
