Runners can explore Arrochar’s “beautiful” woodlands during a 10k race showcasing “spectacular views” of the town and Ben Lomond.

Organised by the Loch Long Jetty Association [LLJA], the Arrochar 10k Run will be held on Saturday, September 16.

Strating at 10.30am, runners will meet at the A83 near the Loin Water where they will set off on the scenic route.

A representative said: “LLJA invites you to a race through the beautiful local woodlands on September 16, at 10.30am.

“With rewarding views of Loch Long you will race through the forestry road before descending into the forest paths taking you through the beautiful woodlands of Ardgartan.

“Finishing with a run alongside Loch Long with spectacular views of both Arrochar and Ben Lomond.”

Prizes are available in the men’s, women’s, veteran, local, and ex-local categories and all finishers will receive a t-shirt and medal.

An award ceremony with homemade cakes for all runners will be held in Arrochar Village Hall after the race.

The event allows for 200 runners aged 16 and over to compete with around 60 spaces still available at the time of writing.

Entry costs £20 per person with members of Scottish Athletics, English Athletics or Welsh Athletics receiving a discounted rate of £18.
