THE countdown is on to one of the biggest events in the community calendar in Arrochar – the annual Arrochar 10K race.
Taking place on Saturday, September 16, the race takes competitors over forestry tracks and pavements around and above Arrochar and Ardgartan.
As well as overall prizes, there are also special prizes up for grabs for local runners – who live within 15 miles of the start line – and for ‘ex-locals’, who previously lived in the area or have strong local family connections.
Run by the Loch Long Jetty Association, this year’s entry list of 200 has already been filled, so if you’d like to take part you’ll have to put your name on a waiting list.
The event is traditionally followed by a prize-giving ceremony at the Three Villages Hall in Arrochar.
