Trains from Helensburgh have been disrupted this morning after ScotRail reported "slippery rails! found on the local line.
Services between Dalmuir and Larkhall, Dalmuir and Motherwell and Dalmuir and Cumbernauld have been delayed until at least 12noon after the problem was spotted on the line between Garscadden and Clydebank.
Trains between Helensburgh and Edinburgh, which pass through Dalmuir, have also been affected.
The advice is to check if a rail journey is possible using a journey planning app such as National Rail Enquiries or ScotRail.
The delays come as Storm Babet is set to batter Britain over Thursday and Friday.
The Met Office has issued a rare red warning for parts of the east of Scotland, such as Brechin, Forfar and Kirriemuir.
That means those parts of the country should expect "exceptionally heavy and persistent rain."
