POLICE in Helensburgh are investigating after CCTV footage reportedly showed a group of teenage girls stealing alcohol from a town centre supermarket.

According to police, the group, believed to be aged between 14 and 16, were seen stealing a quantity of booze from the Tesco store on Sinclair Street. 

Police say the incident happened at around 6.20pm on Wednesday, October 16.

Anyone with information is being asked to call Police Scotland on 101 and ask for Helensburgh police office.

In a separate incident, police are investigating after a teenage girl was reportedly seen on CCTV stealing alcohol from a different Helensburgh supermarket.

This incident is said to have happened at the Co-operative Food store in Sinclair Street at around 4pm on Wednesday, October 18.

According to police the girl was with another female teenager at the time, and both were seen running from the store.

Police are following a positive line of enquiry; again, anyone with further information is asked to contact Helensburgh police office by calling 101.
