Members of a local Rotary Club have helped bring an extra festive sparkle to a favourite Christmas event in Helensburgh.

Lomond Rotary was invited by Hermitage Academy PTA to provide a Santa's Grotto at their Christmas craft fair last week.

The event proved to be a very busy day for Santa with more than 130 children visiting and receiving a special gift.

There were more than 80 stalls selling a huge variety of crafts, gifts, homemade cake and even face painting.

Each child received a chocolate Santa or selection box when they visited Father Christmas and his elves in the grotto on November 21.

The presents were kindly donated by local supermarkets in Helensburgh and any leftover selection boxes were given to Helensburgh Foodbank and West Dunbartonshire Community Foodshare.

Sheenah Nelson, from the Lomond Rotary Club, said: "This is another excellent example of Rotary working in partnership with the community to make a difference."
