Just another day, but the change from one year to another makes us think of the passing of time. Sometimes it paces. Sometimes it races.

When I was a child I laughed and wept, Time crept; When I was a youth I dreamt and talked, Time walked.

Then I became a full grown man, Time ran.

But as I older grew, Time flew.

We know what the poet is saying. Time flies when we’re having fun. Time lingers during the week, but rushes through the weekend.

Time charts the weeks before the wedding and counts nine months of pregnancy. Time changes babies into children, children into teens, then teens into young adults.

As Albert Einstein put it: “Sit on a hot stove for a minute and it seems like an hour. Sit with a girl on a bench and an hour seems like a minute."

What will next year hold for us? Who knows? We can’t change the world.

That is left to others, who sometimes don’t seem up to the task. But we can change ourselves.

Someone once said: “We should treat others the way we would like to be treated.”

I am going to try it...will you Join me?
