Helensburgh Amateur Swimming Club's young swimmers brought home a stack of medals from the 2016 Argyll & Clyde championships in Dunoon.

The other clubs taking part included Inverclyde, Dunoon, Oban, Kintyre and Islay & Jura.

Forty-nine medals in total were won by Helensburgh swimmers - 24 gold, seven silver and 18 bronze.

It was a long day including an evening session but that didn't stop the swimmers from doing their best.

A special mention goes to Alice Cumming swimming in the female 8 and under age group who secured gold medals in all four of her races. Likewise Kate Storey swimming in the female 16 and over age group secured gold medals in all three of her races.

The remaining medal winners were:

Male age 10 group: Cameron Carmichael, 1 gold; Ross Carmichael, 1 gold & 3 bronze; Mikey Miller 1 gold and 2 Silver.

Male age 11 group: William Peace, 2 bronze.

Male age 14-15 age group: Alex Johnson, 2 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze; Jake Miller, 1 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze.

Male age 16 and over age group: Robert Humphries 2 gold; Jon Law 2 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze.

Female age 9 group: Pippa Swigciski, 3 bronze.

Female age 10 group Roisin Kavanagh, 4 gold.

Female age 11 group: Kirsty Trail, 1 silver, 1 bronze; Caitriona Stewart 2 gold.

Female age 14-15 age group: Emily Miller, 1 gold; Charlotte Caskie, 3 bronze.

Female age 16: and over age group: Gail Craig, 1 gold, 1 silver, 3 bronze; Alex MacFarlane 1 gold, 1 bronze.
