GARELOCHHEAD Bowling Club has launched a bid to persuade more ladies to take up the game.

With the 2024 outdoor competition season on greens across Scotland due to begin in the next month or so, the club, on Feorlin Way, is looking to expand its ladies' section.

In an appeal posted on social media a club spokesperson said: "We are a friendly club with a small and welcoming ladies' section.

"Give us a call and speak to our new ladies' president, Heather McConnell, for more details.

"Why not give it a try and perhaps make some new friends along the way?"

To find out more contact Heather on 01436 810190 or email the club on garelochheadbowlingclub@gmail.com.

The club recently announced that it had chosen the Route 81 youth project, based in the village, as its official charity partner for 2024, with a range of events planned to give the initiative, and the area's young people, a helping hand.

The club has also been chosen, along with Dalmuir Bowling Club in Clydebank, as one of the host venues for the Bowls Scotland Inter-District finals on Thursday, June 6.
