A TALENTED young Garelochhead footballer has enjoyed his first taste of international action.

Kerr Reynolds, whose father Paul is a coach at Rhu Amateurs, was selected to represent his country at Under 15s level recently, and had the opportunity to travel to Spain to take part in games against Hong Kong and Spain.

This was Kerr’s first taste of international football after climbing the ranks at Hamilton Accies, and after numerous impressive displays he was given the opportunity to pull on the national team's jersey and made his debut against Hong Kong in an impressive 3-1 victory.

The youngster has been working hard to climb the football ladder after the Advertiser reported five years ago that Kerr had been offered a 'pro youth' contract by the Motherwell FC Academy.

The youngster joined Ardencaple FC at just four years old, and played between the sticks for both the Rangers and Celtic academies before being snapped up by the Steelmen.

A spokesperson for Rhu Amateurs said: "When Kerr isn’t pulling on the gloves for Hamilton or Scotland he can be seen helping out around the club and keeping the Rhu keepers on their toes during warm ups and training.

"Well done from everyone at Rhu AFC. The first of what we are certain will be numerous caps for the young man from Garelochhead."
